Your court date has been set, what’s your defense?

We all know by now how the justice system works. If you commit a crime and you are caught, you will be arrested and given a series of court dates. During this process you will be represented by a paid attorney or a public defender. The attorney’s number one job is to get you if not no jail time then as little as possible. He will try to work out a plea deal with your prosecutor. If a deal is reached, you will plea either no contest or guilty, but a deal being reached means that you don’t have the option of pleading not guilty.
In the beginning, God created Adam and his purpose was to enjoy relationship and fellowship with his Maker. We all know the story of Adam’s disobedience which led to the fall of men. At that moment mankind was charged with a crime. Mankind was hunted down and arrested by the accuser of the brethren, satan himself. We are then placed in a judicial process much like what we have today. There’s a prosecutor, there’s a Judge, Who is both Judge and Jury. Our crime? I was born in sin and in iniquity did my mother conceive me. What are the charges against me? Those are the charges against me! In this court, I will not be given an arraignment, I’ve already been arraigned when Adam fell. In this court, I will not be given a plea deal, in this court I will not even have proceedings. In this court my fate is set and my sentencing date is announced. The enemy accuses me before God and I have no defense. I tell Him I try to live good, and He said but you still sin. I try to go to church every Easter and Christmas, He exclaimed, but you still sin. What is my defense? My Judge looks at me, the Creator of the universe looks at me and says “there is a way, I have a plan.” He looks over to my lawyer, the perfect Son of God and asked Him “are You willing to give Your life for this man?” Jesus looks back and says “a thousand times yes!” When my fate was set and death was called for, Jesus said I’ll pay the debt that is owed. We all know the verse John 3:16; For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He even gave up His only begotten unique Son, so that whoever believes in trusts in, clings to, relies on Him shall not perish come to destruction, be lost but have eternal everlasting life. Your sentencing have been set, the Bible says in Hebrews 9:27; And just as it is appointed for all men once to die, and after that the certain judgment.  Your date of answering to God is in the books, it’s on your calendar. If you are without Him today, know this…He has given us His Son to die for us. The debt we owe, we cannot pay but Jesus Christ 2000 years ago on a wooden cross on a hill called Calvary gave His life for us and at the declaration of “it is finished” paid every debt and forgave every sin. Won’t you accept this love that He is offering you? People may say you aren’t special but Jesus thought you were to die for. Write me at mr_barnett28@yahoo.com and let us fellowship together. God Bless you all.
