Bloom where you are planted

In this life we will face things we don’t expect
Surprises, hopes and many regrets
But bloom where you are planted
Though we feel out of place
Disappointments taunt us, and we’re showered with disgrace
Bloom where you are planted
Though your pals may turn their backs
And for some reason you can’t stay on track
Bloom where you are planted
Not expecting to fall so deep
A rough journey, experiences that gives no sleep
And they expect you not to say a peep
I must bloom where I’m planted
Though my leaves may all soon fall
And my giants stand so tall
My pain and hurts I still recall
I must bloom where I’m planted
Though I’ve done all I can do
This mess, I’ve still got to go through
I’m coming out soon, I know this is true
But for now, I must bloom where I’m planted
Though I’m in a strange ole place
In every trial, I still see His grace
His love offers a sweet embrace
I have to bloom where I’m planted
Though I fit not your definition of perfection
And I still fall under temptation
My Lord still offers me salvation
So that I can bloom where I’m planted
Now I’m grown and I’m no longer a boy
I need not candy, neither a toy
I’ve learned to become acceptance with joy
I’m starting to bloom where I’ve been planted.
